Ruby Doo’s Cherished Adventures with Grandma and Grandpa
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Ruby who was almost five years old. Ruby loved working on crafts with her Grandma, so much so that whenever Grandma called to invite her over to visit, Ruby packed her bags immediately. Ruby had a special nickname, and everyone called her Ruby Doo. She loved working on special projects that involved painting, making things out of Playdough, coloring pictures, and creating felt animals with googly eyes.
One day, Ruby received an invitation from her Grandma to come over and spend the weekend. Ruby was thrilled, and she couldn’t wait to spend time with her Grandma and Grandpa. Ruby and her brother Miles lived far far away. It would take almost two hours to get to her Grandparents’ house. Ruby would sleep along the way so the trip would go by faster. As soon as Ruby walked into the door, she always wanted to snack and then immediately start working on a new craft project. One time, Ruby and Grandma made a beautiful, painting together.
After crafts, Ruby would suggest that they play a game of make-believe. Ruby made everyone pick an animal, and she most always chose a kitty. Everyone had to be in a cage just like the animals at the zoo until they were allowed to be released. Ruby’s Grandma and Grandpa were more than happy to participate in the game and were even given the honor of being the zookeepers.
Frequently throughout the day, Ruby’s healthy appetite would prompt her to let Grandma and Grandpa know that she was hungry. She exclaimed, “I need foods!” and Grandma and Grandpa would take her to the cabinet to choose a healthy snack. They had a lot of options. Ruby could choose from strawberries, carrot sticks with peanut butter, white cheese rolled in ham, fruit rollups, and much more.
After eating her snack, Ruby would suggest they play a game of cards. Go Fish and Old Maid were her favorite games, but she also loved playing “Don’t Wake Daddy,” a board game that made everyone laugh.
When it was time for bed, Ruby brushed her teeth, put on her pajamas, and cuddled up with her favorite stuffed animal, a kitty she had made with her Grandma. Grandma and Grandpa read her a bedtime story about a magical forest filled with fairies and unicorns. Ruby fell asleep with a smile on her face, dreaming about the adventures she would have with her family the next day.
Grandma and Grandpa loved Ruby so much, and they couldn’t wait until she came back to visit. They felt blessed to have such a creative, happy, and loving granddaughter. Ruby Doo had made their day unforgettable, and they couldn’t wait to spend more time with her, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
